What will you do in this job?

  • The Assistant Manager ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day operations for the hotel restaurant and special events, including banquets.
  • Supervise staff and ensure that customer expectations are exceeded at all times
  • Keep the food and beverage areas clean and maintain exemplary food hygiene practices
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and management of staff
  • Assist with inventory management; oversee proper unpacking of weekly orders, ensuring storage locations are neat and tidy at all times and part of the monthly counting ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to address customer complaints or issues, and resolve matters as expediently as possible
  • Oversee food storage and dining areas, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with safety regulation and health codes
  • Assist with cocktail creation and menu development. Let your passion shine!
  • Lead and execute weddings, conferences and signature events; ensure that no detail is missed and the event is delivered flawlessly
  • Daily billing and financial responsibilities to be completed accurately and efficiently
  • A leader in daily communication on guest feedback, employee performance and notes from the days shift

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Flexible to work various shifts (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, split shifts)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills
  • Highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at one time
  • Strong proven leadership qualities and management skills
  • Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is a strong asset
  • 2 years' in a hotel or restaurant industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position
  • Working knowledge of MICROS or similar P.O.S. system is an asset
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
