This role combines high-volume retail sales, photography, and customer service at one of Banff’s busiest attractions. On peak days, you will help more than 6,000 guests create and take home their memories.

What will your compensation be?

The starting salary for this position is $17.00.

When does this adventure begin?

This job is posted as part of our seasonal hiring for Fall/Winter, 2025.

What perks can you expect?

  • Join an inclusive, global team and make life-long connections.
  • Enjoy free access to Pursuit attractions and 50% off for friends.
  • Get discounts on hotel stays, dining, and retail.

What will you do in this job?

The Retail & Photo Sales Associate role is dual-focused: delivering world-class service and driving sales across our gift shop and our proprietary photo platform (Storibox). This position requires a calm, positive, and resilient individual who can excel in both fast-paced retail and guest-facing photography.

Sales & Customer Experience: World-Class Hospitality

This role is the face of the Banff Gondola experience. You are expected to deliver world-class hospitality in every interaction, consistently adhering to the high standards set by the Hospitality Department, whether you are on the retail floor or at the photo kiosks.

  • Deliver World-Class Hospitality: Greet every guest with genuine warmth, provide proactive assistance, and embody the service standards defined by the Hospitality Department to create a memorable and positive experience.
  • Photo Sales: Proactively approach guests to capture high-quality, professional photographs. Utilize the Storibox platform to seamlessly look up, present, and sell photo packages, framing the purchase as a valued souvenir of their journey.
  • Retail Sales: Serve thousands of guests daily by efficiently operating tills, handling cash/credit transactions, and upselling/promoting products. Connect with guests to suggest items that enhance their visit or help them recall their experience.
  • Issue Resolution: Handle guest inquiries and minor concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating complex issues to management while ensuring the guest feels heard and valued.
  • Provide expert product knowledge for both retail merchandise and photo packages, using your passion for the park to enhance the sales pitch.

Retail & Operational Support:

  • Manage a high-volume retail floor, including restocking and visual merchandising to keep the store attractive and fully stocked, even during busy surges.
  • Assist with the receiving and processing of inventory, liaising with the management team on product stock levels and photo product fulfillment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all sales areas, photo kiosks, and back-of-house operations.
  • Follow all Health & Safety standards and operational procedures to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Strong Sales Aptitude: Proven ability to upsell and meet/exceed sales targets in a retail or customer-facing environment.
  • Technical Comfort: Ability to quickly learn and efficiently operate our Storibox photo platform and POS systems. Basic knowledge of photography or a DSLR camera is an asset.
  • High-Volume Resilience: Ability to multitask and perform both retail and photo duties with speed, accuracy, and a positive, energetic attitude in an environment seeing up to 6,000+ guests per day.
  • Exceptional Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with fluency in English, allowing you to connect with a diverse global clientele.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to support teammates and switch focus quickly between roles (e.g., from capturing photos to processing a retail transaction).
  • Reliability: Punctual and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

What will your work environment be like?

  • Beautiful. You’ll be working in the iconic, unforgettable and inspiring location. Regardless of what your role is with us, you’ll really get the chance to explore and see amazing scenery and wildlife within the Canadian Rockies.
  • Fun. You'll be meeting team members from across the globe and get to participate in tons of team events.
  • Independent. You’ll spend your days in and around our amazing properties.
  • Remote. Our home is filled with trees, lakes, and blue-bird skies; rather than buildings, freeways, and smog.
  • Busy. You need to be prepared for a physical working environment with walking, stair climbing, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance) as required
