What will be your daily pursuit?

The Hospitality Training Specialist plays a vital role in elevating the guest experience by designing, delivering, and supporting the evaluation of engaging training programs. This role focuses on building hospitality skills, reinforcing service standards, and supporting operational excellence across Pursuit properties. 

 

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating memorable guest and team member experiences, brings strong facilitation and instructional design skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role is based in Banff, AB.

What will you do in this job?

  • Gather feedback from leaders, team members, and guest insights to support needs analysis and identify training priorities. 
  • Ensure training content aligns with hospitality standards, brand expectations, and operational requirements. 
  • Support the design, development, and implementation of engaging training programs focused on hospitality, service excellence, and operational standards. 
  • Create impactful training materials, guides, e-learning modules, and job aids that accommodate diverse learning styles. 
  • Build compelling PowerPoint presentations and visual training aids to enhance learning effectiveness. 
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual workshops, training sessions, and ongoing development programs for new and existing team members. 
  • Deliver training to diverse teams and cultures, ensuring an inclusive, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.  
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and act as a mentor to foster learning, growth, and accountability. 
  • Serve as a change champion by promoting and embedding hospitality culture and C.A.R.E. values across the organization. 
  • Support teams through change and encourage adoption of new practices that elevate guest and team member experiences. 
  • Use learning platforms and digital tools to deliver and track training programs.  
  • Assist with scheduling, logistics, and maintaining training records.  
  • Support the coordination of recognition programs to celebrate hospitality success and promote engagement.  
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and innovations in hospitality training and guest experience. 
  • Travel to Pursuit locations as needed to facilitate training, conduct site visits, and support on-the-ground alignment.

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3+ years of experience in hospitality training, learning and development, or operations. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. 
  • Experience in designing training programs and instructional materials. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems. 
  • Knowledge of seasonal business operations and ramp-up strategies. 
  • Experience in coaching and performance improvement within hospitality environments. 
  • Experience in supporting or delivering training programs and developing SOPs. 
  • Multilingual capabilities are an asset to train diverse global team members.
